considering moving to seminole heights

I'm wondering if any out ther can help (especially those residing in SH currently). We are looking at a place on florida @knollwood and wondering about the neighborhood...is it decent? is crime higher in this area than others? would you live here? any help would be greatly appreciated.

On my Seminole Heights blog I posted a reference to your question. There might be some comments there.

I live in Seminole Heights and I love it! I lived a few streets from Knollwood and Florida, and I never had any issues. Seminole Heights is a wonderful community.

I have a place I just placed on the market on W Violet St. E-mail if want me to send you pics. The area is awwwwsome and it's in walking distance to the new Cappy's pizza and about 5 blocks to the new Starbucks. If you move to our area you will love it. Alot of things to do and the porch parties are great! Come on over.

We moved here just over a year ago and love it. We have a bungalow near Hanna and Florida. We don't have children yet, so haven't done the whole school quality consideration yet, but as far as safety goes, I wouldn't hesitate to raise my kids here when I have them. I have friends who live in the suburbs of Tampa and nothing out there compares to the neighborliness and feeling of community you get here in Seminole Heights. There are just so many ways to get involved, porch parties, activism, home tours, or just walking the dog. We interact with someone new almost every time we go out for a walk.

Thank you very much for your comments. I have been hearing mixed responses about parts of SH and I'm not sure about areas to avoid. I've heard the area has been in "revitalization" for a while and just want to be sure before buying.
